Excelentes olas en la Playa de la Cícer durante la segunda prueba del Circuito Canario de Surf Open

La playa de La Cicer (Gran Canaria) lució su mejor cara el pasado fin de semana. Más de 50 surfistas se daban cita para disfrutar sobre las arenas de la capitalina playa, de lo que a todas vistas fue un gran campeonato.

Olas constantes que alcanzaron el medio metro de altura con momentos muy glassy y de viento off-shore permitieron que durante el sábado se desarrollasen todas las rondas clasificatorias.

El domingo las condiciones de mar fueron también excelentes y cumpliendo con los pronósticos se celebraron las finales. En la categoría de Stand Up Paddle, recientemente incluida como modalidad deportiva en los Estatutos de la FCS, entusiasmaron con su surfing el vigente campeón de Canarias Eric Terrien (primero), Pablo Valencia (segundo), Stephane Etienne (tercero) y Eduardo Díaz (cuarto).

Que envidia sana me dá este video..... se nota que se lo están pasando de maravilla. Parece que en Hawaii se lo saben montar para pasar un día fantástico de Sup. Esta semana santa me esperan días de Sup en un mar tranquilo, intentaré aprovechar para entrenar un poco. Ya colgaré fotos cuando llegue de vacaciones. Buen Sup para todos.

Dejo un vídeo en HD grabado con la GoPro. Todavía le tengo que coger la pisada a la tabla, poco a poco..... Las sensaciones son muy buenas, es una tabla muy fácil de remar y surfear. Ahora me ronda por la cabeza comprarme la Gong Nanogen 7´7 para un poco más de radicalidad a la hora de las maniobras. Habrá que ahorrar......

Aquí os dejo un video que me servió de ayuda a la hora de preparar mi paddle de fibra de carbono. Yo seguí los consejos al pié de la letra y me salió perfecto. Muy bueno, claro y explicativo.

Ya tengo la amarradera OAM (On A Mission). Es una 9´Regular Calf, muy cómoda de amarrar y no molesta como otras. Os la recomiendo, como alternativa a las marcas de siempre. Aquí, unas fotos.

Problemas con los envíos de Gopro a Canarias

Parece que tengo problemas con el envío de Gopro a canarias, al llevar una batería, se considera materias de riesgo. Total, que tengo que buscar una dirección en la península para que un amigo me la reenvíe. Así llevo 2 semanas esperando. Encima, falta comunicación entre Gopro y mi persona. Estoy muy descontento con ellos.
Quizás sea mejor comprarla por Ebay. Otra vez será.

It seems to have problems with sending to canary a GoPro, cause carry a battery, is considered risk material. Total, I have to find an address on the peninsula for a friend forwarded to me. So I´ve been waiting 2 weeks. Above, lack of communication between GoPro and myself. I am very unhappy with them. Maybe It better buy it for Ebay. Next time.

Material On A Mission

Mi buen amigo Alfredo me ha proporcionado material de OAM (On A Mission). Tengo ganas de probar el leash, parece cómodo, a ver si éste es el definitivo.
Respecto al boardbag, es muy cómo do de llevar, se adapta muy bien a la tabla y está hecho de muy buen material.
Me gusta que las marcas se metan en el mundo del sup, así tendremos más variedad a la hora de elegir.

Esperando mi gopro

Hace cosa de 1 mes que perdí mi gopro cogiendo olas con el paddleboard. Decidí comprarme la nueva gopro hd nada más llegar a casa, y desde entonces, estoy esperando a que me llegue la nueva cámara.

It makes thing of 1 month that I lost my gopro taking waves with paddleboard. I decided to buy new gopro hd nothing else to arrive at house, and since then, I am hoping at that the new camera arrives to me.

Rescate feliz

Esto ocurrió el pasado día 6 de febrero. Un SUPer fué rescatado en helicoptero de la playa de La Cicer, en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Al no estar la Cruz Roja, se montó un dispositivo de emergencia. Todo termino felizmente.

This happened past February 6th. A Super was rescued in helicopter of the beach of La Cicer, in Las Palmas of Gran Canaria. When not being the Red Cross, a emergencia device mounted. Everything I finish happily.

Buenas sensaciones.

Ayer probé la Drops 9´2 Volt con muy buenas sensaciones, solamente la metí en el agua y dí unas paladas. Ahora falta probarla con olas. Es bastante estable y fácil de remar, y se puede camirar bien sobre ella. Una tabla muy recomendable.
Fuí con mi buen amigo Alejandro para que se iniciase en el sup, acabó por recorrer unos metros de pié, poco a poco Ale. Lo que me llegará al final, serán mis pasos, no el camino.

I proved the Drops 9´2 Volt yesterday with very good sensations, only I put it in the water and did­ some shovelfuls. Now it lacks to prove it with waves. It is quite stable and easy to row, and it is possible to walk well on its. A very recommendable board.

Esta es una de mis primeras gabraciones pillando olas con el sup. Un día no especialmente bueno, pero gratificante, lo recuerdo bien, un poco chopi, medusas.....
Al final nos lo pasamos bién, que es de lo que se trata. Con Miguel, compañero de fatigas.
